Formula 1
SEIKO is an official partner of the Honda Racing F1 team and driver Jenson Button is a die-hard fan and brand ambassador for SEIKO. The Sportura collection of watches celebrates the relationship between SEIKO and Honda and the designs are inspired by the high-performance motor sport. The Sportura collection features alarm chronographs, retro-grade chronographs and Kinetic watches.
Seiko sailing watches
In addition to the high octane sponsorship of Formula 1, SEIKO also sponsors the equally adrenalin filled, but somewhat wetter sport of sailing in the International 49er Class. To highlight this exciting new relationship, SEIKO launched Velatura - a collection of high performance marine watches for men and women. The collection features two new watch technologies; Kinetic Direct Drive and a Yachting Timer.
Kinetic Direct Drive
Kinetic Direct Drive is a brand new watch technology. The wearer can generate electrical energy via two methods: by wrist movement and now they can also generate energy by winding the crown which allows the wearer to see the energy being generated on the indicator.
Yachting Timer
Racing yachts is a precision skill where every second counts. The SEIKO Yachting Timer features race-specific functions including a countdown timer, chronograph, alarm and of course, 100m water resistance. The Velatura Yachting Timer a must for all discerning racers.
