It is recommended by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH that mechanical watches are cleaned and serviced every three years to ensure accurate time keeping. A Quartz watch has moving parts which also require regular maintenance.
What happens during a service?
During a full service your watch will be completely stripped and all components cleaned, and worn parts replaced on an exchange basis. The components are then re-assembled, lubricated and all functions tested, regulated and sealed back into the ultrasonically cleaned case. Testing takes place over a 5 day period where timekeeping and power reserves are tested.
How can I get my prestige timepiece repaired?
Simply take your item to your nearest Ernest Jones branch, and our staff will give you a verbal estimate and an approximation of when the repair will be complete. If the watchmaker, after examining the movement, decides more work is needed a further estimate will be sent to you.

Watch straps and batteries
We have a wide range of replacement watch straps and batteries that can be fitted in-store. Batteries are guaranteed for 12 months.
