A watch is a great way to add the finishing touch to your look.

Today, watch brands are increasingly taking their inspiration from jewellery designers. Brands such as Burberry and Citizen have introduced watches with charms that combine fashion with function. From Philip Stein to Emporio Armani, stone-set watches are everywhere. Diamond-set watches are a fashionista's essential but if you can't go for the real thing, choose a watch sparkling with crystals.

Colour is big on the catwalks and this trend is reflected in a growing number of watches with coloured straps. Green, pink, blue - whatever your favourite colour, you'll find a watch strap you love. And watch cuffs are huge at the moment with many brands introducing them into their collections.

For men, there's a hark back to yesteryear. We're seeing a huge return to traditional-style watches with retro-styling, leather straps, several functions, or grand complications. Think Maurice Lacroix or Rotary. And if you don't want to go back in time, go big and bold with a large case and a wide watch strap.
