No Time To Die: Every Moment Counts With OMEGA

It’s only fitting that the world’s most famous Secret Service agent is equipped with the most exceptional tools to aid and assist him during each and every one of those action-filled moments. So, it makes perfect sense, that OMEGA is the official watch of choice for the man who has No Time To Die.

To celebrate the release of the latest edition in the long-standing series, OMEGA has launched the Seamaster Diver 300M Co‑Axial Master Chronometer 42MM 007 Edition. Identical to the watch worn by James Bond in the film, it is the perfect collector’s item for aficionados of the famous franchise, or for those looking to channel their inner spy.

Setting the benchmark as high, this powerful partnership between OMEGA and 007 stems over 30 years, with the watchmaker continuing to deliver the precision and performance James Bond requires to rise to his duties with distinction.

When 007 met OMEGA

Masterful in striking that elusive balance of style and substance, James Bond’s choice of timepiece has to match both his smooth charm and equally daring disposition. To capture this, OMEGA was selected in 1995 as the official watch brand to provide a more modern, metropolitan spin to the man of action.

A carefully curated, continental-inspired edit saw impeccably tailored Italian suits complemented with the superb Swiss craftmanship of the OMEGA Seamaster 300M Quartz to maximise the secret agent’s sartorial credentials, ensuring he made an instantly commanding impression during his globe-trotting ventures.

This was the first in a long line of remarkable models that succinctly catered to 007’s raring-to-go nature, all while guaranteeing that he cut a refined figure during his many rendezvous.

Saving the day with his trusty OMEGA

A reliable, trustworthy aid, OMEGA has been there to take account of Bond’s most frantic and fantastic escapades. Here are some of the most magnificent models to feature in some of the most mesmerising moments in cinema:

Casino Royale

Released in 2006 and marking Daniel Craig’s debut as Mr Bond, 007 can be seen wearing the Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial when he took down Le Chiffre over a gaming table at the casino in an attempt to financially embarrass him.

Quantum of Solace

An appropriate choice, given one of the plotlines of the 2008 film was centred on the villainous Dominic Greene exploiting a water shortage, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M OMEGA Co-Axial with a classic black dial and bezel was the watch adorning the beloved spy’s wrist as he raced to restore order once again.

Skyfall

With the past catching up with Bond in 2012’s Skyfall, it meant relying on the Planet Ocean 600M and a somewhat dressier Aqua Terra to tackle his demons in particularly debonaire fashion. Powered by OMEGA Co-Axial calibres, both designs were ideal for a film suffused with meditations on mortality and brimming with plenty of action.

Spectre

It's fitting that an ex-naval commander would choose a Seamaster, with Bond opting for not one, but two in 2015’s Spectre. The OMEGA Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition with rare lollipop seconds hand and black and grey NATO strap and the OMEGA Aqua Terra 150M were the timepieces selected on this occasion, connecting OMEGA's rich maritime heritage with 007's naval background.

There is No Time To Die with OMEGA

Assigned to a task far more dangerous than expected and with a mysterious new villain to tackle, it’s only apt that Bond is armed with the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 edition for the latest instalment.

Built from tough titanium and powered by OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 offering a COSC-certified movement with anti-magnetic properties, it is the sleekest and most superb watch yet to mark every precious second, minute and hour.

Available with either a mesh bracelet or a striped NATO strap, the 42mm timepiece is crafted from Grade 2 Titanium, which is used for the case, the mesh bracelet and its innovative adjustable buckle. This special material is incredibly strong and lightweight, making it perfect for an undercover agent.

To reduce the weight further, OMEGA introduced an aluminium dial and bezel ring in a colour that replicates the aged brown hue, which certain vintage dials turn over time - referred to by collectors as ‘tropical’. Special new doming of the sapphire-crystal glass has also created a slightly slimmer watch than the standard Seamaster Diver 300M models.

Keeping all these decorative elements in correct alignment is OMEGA’s patented Naiad Lock securing system, which prevents over-tightening of the screw-in case back.

For special edition enthusiasts, the case back features a series of numbers, which follow the format for genuine military-issue watches. ‘0552’ is the code-number specified for Navy personnel, with ‘923 7697’ being the number for a divers’ watch. The letter ‘A’ is a code used to signify a watch with a screw-in crown, while ‘007’ is, of course, James Bond’s iconic agent number. Finally, the number ‘62’ nods tribute to the first James Bond film – Dr No – which was released in 1962.
