Seiko Prospex watches are designed for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative technology has changed global dive watch standards. This diver’s watch is a modern re-interpretation of the Seiko world's first Chronograph Divers, featuring an alarm function. Originally released in 1982, known as the "Hybrid divers” because it combines analogue and digital watch technology. This specific model is known globally as the ‘Arnie’ after the actor who wore it in the film ‘Commando.’ The watch shape is affectionately nicknamed by Seiko fans as a ‘Tuna’ - because of its larger diameter and bold shape like a tuna tin - loved for decades since its release.

Seiko offers a great range of watches from fashion to sport and technical timepieces styled in the most up-to-date designs.

Its an ARNIE!

I'm in the age group to have been brought up on early ARNIE movies but not old enough at the time to purchase the toys at the time. Luckily the Seiko has said "I'll be BACK" and re-released the Arnie, which has given me a chance to own it. When I put it on it takes me back to you teen & preteen years. the strap is super comfy but beware its a watch for big boys, it wears smaller than it is, but its still has a wrist presence. Its a great nostalgia piece for guys of a certain age, as well as a great utility watch.

really disapointed

According to Seiko's official company history, titled A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" . Well I don't think it works for this watch. Its big, its bold but no more than my other divers watches. It has the feel of a market stall watch, I can't describe it any better. My other watches ooze quality, this one just doesn't have it. My watch from 1986 that I bought new, a quartz divers, keeps impeccable time, as does my kinetic divers from 2010. Since setting the time on this watch, a little after it was delivered this morning 10/03/2020 its lost a second. I will see what it does over a week. The thing that really really hurts is 'made in China' on the case back. Exquisite, no this watch is not. Success, if you rate selling a Chinese made item as Japanese to a European, then yes, you have success, right there in your watch making bank account. I have a feeling that my association with Seiko has come to an abrupt and sad ending. Ernest Jones, my purchase of this watch was straightforward and easy. I was kept in the loop by several emails and text messages and was supplied with a tracking number etc. thank you.
