I ordered a Tissot Seastar 1000 from their website and it was delivered today. The watch was not sent from a "warehouse" or "stock hub" but rather from their Cardiff store, I am in Cambridge (The store reference was on the paper work). The actual watch box was inside a larger Ernest Jones box with no extra protection so the watch box inside was able to roll around. The outer box inside was damaged with a clear ding on the side and dog eared. On opening the watch box, as has been alluded too in other reviews, the watch delivered looked like a returned item or returned to store used item, ex display at best. The clasp, band and in part the case were all scratched to varying degrees and scuff markes present. Not what you would expect buying NEW. The watch had clearly already been worn by someone else. There were no hang tags present nor protective plastic protectors on the watch face or band, the one that was on there (Very small near the clasp) looked like someone had tried to take it off and then gave up and made a right mess. The protective cover that should have been on the back of the case of the watch was missing and a "sticky" residue left there where it had been taken off/worn off badly. The watch had also come loose from its housing in transit inside the inner box. This watch was definately not new, that would have been clear to see even by the person packing and sending it. Having bought and owned watches for many many years from £30 to £12500 from many manufacturers, even a cheap Casio is sent with more care than this was. Never have I had a watch arrive in such a poor condition. It was meant to be new!. The watch arrived today (2nd September 2021) and was returned today (2nd September 2021) via Royal Mail tracked post. Let's see what happens next as I await a refund!. I also tried to call customer service but that was a farce and gave up. No, I dont want to ring a number and press another, just sort it please. Used EJ many ago in the past and they were superb but this really is poor form from them. Tissot ought to know how their products are being sent out and in what condition as it also reflects on them by using EJ as a retailer, I am sure they too would be as unimpressed as me.
