This Seiko Prospex Marinemaster is a modern reinterpretation of Japan’s first diver’s watch, originally released in 1965 and famously worn by the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition between 1966 and 1969. Inspired by the original design, the watch features a deep navy dial with a textured horizontal pattern, rectangular Lumibrite-coated indices, and mirror-finished lugs, all protected under a box sapphire crystal. Housed in a super-hard coated 39.5mm stainless steel case just 12.3mm thick, it is the slimmest Seiko mechanical diver meeting ISO standards, with a sapphire exhibition case back. Powered by the in-house 6L37 automatic calibre, it offers precision to +15/-10 seconds per day and a 45-hour power reserve. Designed for durability and reliability in extreme conditions, the Marinemaster blends Seiko’s diving heritage with contemporary marine sports style.
