Terms and Conditions for Ernest Jones Ratings and Reviews Prize Draw

    Products ratings and reviews (referred to below together as a "review") published on the Ernest Jones website via the platform provided by Ernest Jones will be automatically entered into a monthly prize draw in accordance with the conditions set out below. The Promoter of the prize draw is Signet Trading Limited.

    In order to be eligible for entry in the reviews prize draw, each review must adhere to the User Content Terms of Use. Publication of users' reviews on the Ernest Jones website is subject to moderation. Reviews posted in breach of the User Content Terms of Use will be rejected and will not be entered in the reviews prize draw. Only approved and published reviews will be deemed valid entries into the prize draw.

    You may enter as many reviews as you wish in any given month however reviews published in previous months will not count towards subsequent months' prize draws.

    In order to be able to submit a review, you will need to have a customer account on Ernest Jones' website.

    The reviews prize draw will take place on a monthly basis and the winning review will be selected from reviews published between the first and last day (inclusive) of the immediately preceding calendar month. Ernest Jones will use its best efforts to complete the draw within 14 days from the end of each calendar month for reviews published the immediately preceding calendar month. The winner will be drawn at random from all the published reviews submitted between the first and last day of the immediately preceding calendar month.

    This competition is open to all residents of the UK except for employees and their households and agencies of Signet Trading Ltd.

    Comments, ratings and reviews on reviews made by other users do not qualify for entry into the prize draw.

    No trade, third party or consumer group applicants will be accepted. Automated or bulk submissions will not be accepted.

    There will be one prize winner per calendar month.

    The winner will be notified by the email registered with their Ernest Jones account within 28 days of the date of the draw. It is the winner's responsibility to ensure that the email address held on their account is correct.

    Should the winner's contact details be incorrect or if the winner does not claim their prize by responding to the notification of win email within one month from the date of such email, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner drawn. Prizes will be sent by registered delivery at the address supplied by the winner when responding to the notification of win email.

    The prize is as follows: An Ernest Jones gift card to the value of £200. Use of the gift card is subject to Ernest Jones gift cards Terms and Conditions.

    The prize is subject to availability, non transferable and there is no cash alternative. All other expenses are the responsibility of the winner.

    Entry implies acceptance of the rules as final and legally binding. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.

    The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and to amend or withdraw the promotion as necessary due to circumstances beyond its control. The Promoter does not make any commitment as to the period of time during which such monthly prize draw will be running and shall be entitled to stop or discontinue this prize draw at any time in the future.

  • These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry / claim instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions and by entering this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions.   • The Promoter takes data protection seriously. By entering in this promotion, you confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy and agree to these Terms and Conditions of the promotion.   • 7. To enter the Competition, participants must download the entry form from and create a poster. The design must incorporate the three CLIC Sargent values of hope, strength and unity.
  • There are no other specifications for the design, and it can be made using any method e.g. drawing, painting, use of digital software, collage etc. Participants must then submit their design either through Facebook (as set out at clause 8 below), or through Instagram (as set out in clause 9 below), during the Promotional Period.

  • 8.5. completion of points 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4 constitutes an “Entry”
  • 9. To enter the Competition on Instagram (, participants must:
  • 9.1 Have a valid, non-private Instagram account;
  • 9.2. Follow Ernest Jones on Instagram;
  • 9.3. Upload a grid post to their valid, non-private Instagram account of their design/mood board;

  • 9.5. completion of points 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4 constitutes an “Entry”
  • 10. Participants acknowledge and warrant that their design is their own intellectual creation and has not been copied or taken in whole or in part from any other source.
  • 11. Each participant can only enter the Competition once, either through Facebook (as set out in point 8 above), or through Instagram (as set out in point 9 above). Multiple Entries are not permitted. Only the first Entry by each participant will be accepted and constitute a valid Entry. For the avoidance of doubt, if a participant has entered on both Facebook and Instagram only their first Entry will be entered into the Competition.
  • 12. All Entries must be received by Ernest Jones during the Competition Period or they will be void. H. Samuel / Ernest Jones will not accept responsibility for:
  • 12.1. Competition Entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
  • 12.2. any change in dates, times or cancellations or other arrangements that may prevent a winner from accepting, taking or using a prize.
  • 13. On 11th February 2021, one (1) winner will be selected by a panel incorporating the key heads of departments within Ernest Jones & representatives from CLIC Sargent, from all valid Entries received. The winning Entries will be chosen based on how well they align with CLIC Sargent’s values of hope, strength and unity.
  • 14. The winners will be notified on 12th February 2021 via direct message on the social media platform they used to enter the Competition (“Notification”).
  • 15. The prize must be claimed in accordance with the instructions in the Notification message, within seven (7) days of the Notification. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of the Prize and an alternative winner will be chosen.
  • 16. The winners will need to provide Ernest Jones with their contact details and a postal address to receive their Prize.
  • 17. If a winner is found to be ineligible or fails to comply with the Terms, then the winner may, in Ernest Jones sole discretion, be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected.

  • 18. There will be one (1) winner from all valid Entries received across Facebook and Instagram. The winner will be entitled to:

  • 20. The £200 gift card will be sent to the relevant address provided by the winner within one (1) month of the competition close date
  • Intellectual Property Rights and Use of Submissions
  • 21. Participants will retain ownership of the copyright in their Entries to the Competition.
  • 22. By submitting an Entry to the Competition, the participant grants Ernest Jones the worldwide right to use the Entry in relation to the Competition, for the purposes of manufacturing the Prize (which shall include sharing the Entry with trusted third parties), and/or in relation to the advertising and/or marketing of Ernest Jones products and brand. Such use may include, without limitation, reproducing, copying, translating, adapting, publishing or making available your Entry i) in hardcopy, softcopy, or CAD formats; ii) on Ernest Jones websites; iii) on any social media account controlled by Ernest Jones; and iv) in Ernest Jones other advertising and/or marketing materials. The rights granted in this paragraph are perpetual (i.e. they last forever), and royalty-free (i.e. the participant will not be entitled to any compensation or other payments from Ernest Jones).
  • 22.1. All participants irrevocably waive all moral rights in their Entries to which they are entitled.

In the event that the specified information is not provided or is incorrect, the entry may be considered incomplete and therefore the Promoter reserves the right to invalidate the claim.

  • 25. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable unless otherwise stated and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of compensation. In the event for any reason the user does not take any element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the user and neither cash nor any other form of compensation will be supplied in lieu of that element of the prize, unless otherwise agreed. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, the prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another prize for it, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value.   • 30. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all promotional matters.

In the event of exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the fulfilment of the prize, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the promotion or these Terms and Conditions at any stage but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
  • 32. The Promotion and these Terms and Conditions will be governed in accordance with English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
  • 33. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid, or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
